this is my second Christmas in the US but it was 7 years apart.

not used to the tradition, I forgot that I need to exchange gifts. EMBARASSING

Dah ada orang complain saya tak update ini after so long...so here goes

 

ok. on Christmas Eve, I went for steamboat dinner with Uncle Wei Ming and his family.

hehe. my cousin Lily was back for holiday and I met someone who can talked food with.....Kean, someone who lived in Malaysia before..... and did we talked.

anyway, what i really want to talk about is the different way of Steamboat i had.

 

Malaysian Style steamboat is usually one where we heat up our soup and dumped everything in........

well, when i had steamboat with my relatives, due to the fact that they know i like spicy food, they used a yin yang pot, putting Ma La sauce in one and plain soup in another.

Here, instead of dumping everything, the 料will be put into the pot one after another. so u will finish one type of food before eating the other.

another big difference was the noise volume.

when we steamboat Malaysian style, everyone talks at the same time.....so noisy.....like it is a competition but when i ate with my realtives, everyone don't talk at the same time.

 

it was a different experience for me but i like it also.....can slowy eat and enjoy the food

 

 

 

 

 

High School Musical

Sorry guys for not updating sooner……first no time then no internet.

Ok I finally went to my first musical and it is High School Musical. I’m pretty lucky in the sense that I watched my first musical in Kodak Theatre which is where the Academy Award is filmed. Kodak Theatre is totally different from what I imagined. From tv it seems very big but from inside it is not that big after all…….the 3 columns of seat that seems endless in tv is just normal……..by comparison, maybe just twice the size of PCGHS hall albeit it is way way way nicer than PCGHS’ (there are cushioned chairs after all!)

Well the HSM I watched is not done by the original cast member (obviously. Maybe I should have shell out the money for Lee Hom or Jay after all) but the cast did a good job. There are changes from the movie but they pretty much stuck to it, so no new suprises but a good way to refresh my memory of the film.  I personally feel that the casting was a little weird. I would have expected them to look for ppl with the same look as the real movie but in the musical, Troy is dark haired……which really throw me off at the start of the show I kept looking around the stage for a light colored hair guy. LOL. I actually feel that singing wise this Troy did an awesome job, maybe even better than Zac Efron. But the girl who played Gabriella was pretty bad. Her voice was too soft and I could not hear anything for the beginning of the show though it got better as the show neared its end. The most irritating thing was the voice of Sharpay. Very grating. Makes me wanna run to the stage and throttle her. LOL.

Watching a theatre production was really a different experience from watching tv or in the cinema. In the latter, u have only 1 focus when u wathced it while in a musical or stage performances sometimes there are 2 or 3 things happening at once. I couldn’t decide where to put my attention at. Kinda sad about that. There were once when 3 things happened all at once. WOW….my head was like wathc this then that then this….headache.

Watching a musical was something amazing. Something different from what I’ve done before. Everyone should try it at least once.

As I was leaving Kodak Theatre, I realized something pretty awesome. In the many pillars leading to the entrance of the Theatre, the names of all the Best Picture of the Year are listed there……….pretty cool.

我现在人在Detroit Airport, 刚考完试，要到LA过圣诞，应该感觉很开心，可是不知道为什么，心情很复炸，要说伤心也没有，要说高兴也不是。就有一股莫名其妙的不舒服的感觉，真是奇怪。

我发现生活是多变化的，人与人之间的缘分是不能解释的。就好像在这机场一样，大家都可能是从同一辆的飞机到来集中在同一个地方，可是接下来要去的地方都不一样。

I’m making no sense am I? I just having a bad day……..there are so many thoughts running in my head……can’t seem to be able to grab any of them.

好啦！我这只是想写东西而写的，并没有什么。只是忽然觉得很寂寞，很想念你们。

 

我在美国的第一个学期结束了，过得还蛮顺利。感觉很好玩，奇怪，整整4个月都不没有真正想家过，可是现在已却都结束了，却有这样的感觉，奇怪。：P

 

感觉上，在机场，看到这些陌生的人，就会有这样奇怪的感觉

 

ok so they might kill me for this but i still like to share this with u all.

 

i won't name names but .......this is a bunch of my friends from High School. i've told them that i missed singing K and that the next time they go to red box must record Cheng Lin's song for me. and they did it.

when i listened to this i can't stop smilin........and laughing.

its snowing its snowing......this is my first snow in Indiana (it actually snowed on Thanksgiving but i wasn't here)
